Hospice Update
It’s Kyle writing. Tracy had a series of seizures on Saturday. She was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital. Scans suggested that Tracy has leptomeningal disease, which means the cancer is in her cerebral spinal fluid. She also has lesions in her frontal lobe, temporal lobe, and cerebellum. The leptomeningal disease is the real issue, though. The steps that could be taken to contain the cancer did not present quality of life for Tracy, and she continues to have seizures. The decision was made to move her to hospice today. Rest assured Tracy is being kept comfortable and surrounded by so much love.
Tracy, for 7 years we've been in support group together, one of the "originals", with Alice. I miss sitting in the beautiful sunlit room at the Healing Garden with you, but since we became virtual, I scan the squares each week hoping to see your beautiful face. What a treat it is to open my eyes after the meditation and see you there. I try to soak up your wisdom and am always in awe of your compassion and eloquence. We haven't spent enough time together, but even so, I've always loved knowing you were nearby and ready with a listening ear and open heart. You have quite a bunch from our group waiting to greet you: Robin, Karen, Ruth, Maureen, and so many others. You'll be lucky to get a word in edgewise! Your kids will have all these wonderful women watching over them, so please don't worry. I love you so much and it has truly been an honor having you as a friend. Wishing you peace, Melissa
